Pauline co-owns the Red Lantern restaurants in Surry Hills and Darlinghurst with her brother Luke Nguyen and husband Mark Jensen. The multi-award winning Red Lantern restaurants create the most delicious Vietnamese cuisine with world-class service in a welcoming and joyous space.
Red Lantern is...
A unique team with a combination of talents, underpinned with a focus on sustainability. We subscribe wholeheartedly to the GSD (Get Stuff Done) philosophy. We are restaurateurs, award-winning authors, accomplished writers, international television presenters, global speakers and entrepreneurs.
Thinking outside the square
We like to think outside of the square and dance outside of our comfort zone as much as possible. For instance we created Red Lantern Executive Etiquette when I befriended two self-confessed introverts who wanted me to teach them strategic dining techniques to create business alliances over a business lunch or dinner.
Our beer & clam nights are always a sellout. This is where we host a famous brewer from a popular craft beer company, and match the beer with pristine seafood from our sustainable seafood providers.
And then of course there are our Cooking Classes and Cocktail Master classes.
There’s always something going on at Red Lantern.
The value of connections
Connection is why we are here. Connection is what gives our lives meaning and purpose. One of the most exciting things about being in business is creating joint ventures. In the last six months, Red Lantern has collaborated with Business Chicks, Collaborative Christmas, EA Life, Page Personnel, Sydney Writers Festival and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. We are currently in the creative development stages of a beautiful collaboration with The Renegade Collective Magazine. Stay tuned!
Sisterhood and camaraderie
The unique aspect about Women in Focus is the supportive nature of its members. It’s about sisterhood and camaraderie, not competition. The collaboration with Business Chicks and Collaborative Christmas came about because of the connections I had made at last year’s Women in Focus conference in Port Douglas.
The Red Lantern family
I have made friends with many and created business alliances with a number of women through Women in Focus. Some have also become a part of the Red Lantern family. I have worked with the irrepressible Alexx Stuart, the talented Siobhan Doran from The Writers’ Group, the radiant Angela Rossi from Whitbread Insurance, the ever so vivacious Nicole Eckels from Sapphire Group, inspirational Chandra Clements from One Legacy and of course the effervescent Diem Kieu Fuggersberger.
Be genuinely interested in people. Listen skillfully. Practice mindfulness. Be aware. Be self-aware. Be open in heart and mind. You never know what the universe has in store for you!
Pauline's CAN statement
